Corporate Brands Around The World

Hello and welcome to my blog on branding. My name is Lisa Mitchell and I'm a brand enthusiast. I know it may seem weird, but I collect artwork from major corporate brands. As I expanded my collection, I wanted to learn more about how business worked, so I started studying the world of business. I'm not actually part of the business world, as I am currently a stay-at-home mom. But that doesn't mean that there are not a lot of things you can learn from my blog that might help your career or simply understand why I am so passionate about branding.

Need Help? 5 Advantages Of Staffing Services Versus Becoming An Employer

Does your small business need to hire help? While hiring employees can alleviate the workload, it's a big decision with permanent consequences for a growing business. A better solution may be to use temporary workers from a staffing agency instead of becoming an employer. Why? Here are five of the most valuable reasons.

1. The Agency Does the Work

Employers are subject to many new responsibilities and extra work. Before taking on that for yourself, let an established and experienced temporary agency handle it for you. Because their staff remains their employees, the agency is the one completing payroll forms, covering employees with workers compensation, maintaining human resource records, and handling employee issues.

2. You Can Vet New Staff

Many staffing agencies hire out both temporary workers and those who are seeking permanent positions. If you need a permanent employee, you can take a test drive of sorts by working with a staffing service. Clients can often keep an agency employee on staff for up to three months before deciding whether or not to hire them. And the agency has vetted the person, including completing background checks, for you.

3. Staffing Size Is Scalable

If you hire one person, you generally must keep them busy for a set amount of time on a permanent basis. But small business owners often don't know exactly what their needs will be in the future. This is why using a personnel service is useful, because you can hire out as much work as you need done or as little. This can change from week to week or even on a day-to-day basis if need be.

4. You Can Learn Employer Skills

While you may be excellent at the service or goods you provide, employee management takes a different set of skills. Because the agency takes care of the nuts and bolts of employee management, you can use the opportunity to practice people management only. And by interacting with multiple temporary workers, you gain valuable experience with different personalities and styles in a short period of time.

5. You Avoid Employment Costs

Finally, when a business avoids becoming an employer, they avoid the added costs of things like payroll taxes, workers compensation, health insurance, benefits, and recordkeeping expenses. While the staffing agency will include some of these costs in their invoice, you benefit from their ability to negotiate and pay employee expenses in bulk. This stretches your payroll budget.
